Ms. Holloway's Class

My spirits have been kind of down. Not down necessarily, just not myself. However; I was cheered up today by Ms. Holloway's class. Ms. Holloway a.k.a Jena Belle is my cousin who lives in Arnett. Her 6th grade English class is learning the friendly letter format. I got a total of 13 letters from students. I was so touched they took the time to write me letters. It lifted my spirits 110%. Just hearing that even one person likes my blog and is also "keeping the faith" made me smile. It put a little bounce back in my step. They all knew a little bit about me, and I got to learn a little about each of them too. They even included pictures so I could associate names with faces. Their letters were full of personality and inspiration. Here's a few of the things I learned: Nathan's dog is getting neutered, Rebecka's dog is named Chase, Wacey likes bull riding, Lonna likes watching the WNBA, and Peyton's dog had an unsuccessful interaction with a porcupine. Hannah was the mummy at the Legion haunted house, and I now know Brittany's dog's full name, Fredrick Andrew Birkett. Laura wants the rotisserie chicken, Keltsie has a cute chihuahua, Reba's excited for coronation, Bradley has a new deer stand, Elizabeth is going to be Little Red in the play, and Ms. Holloway is amazing. Last month, I also got handmade birthday cards from the 5th, 6th, and 7th grade at Arnett! That town sure is full of great people. They are all keeping the faith on this climb.

  2. Hi Ceci,

I did not know that your were a big Yankee fan like me..But with a name like Ceci, I know you have to be rooting for "C.C" Sabathia and his team..You know, I had the pleasure many years ago of going to Yankee Stadium and watching your Dad pitch for the KC Royals! It was quite a thrill to see my High School buddy actually pitching in a MLB game Yankee Stadium!!..Every kid who plays little league ball dreams of playing in the Majors and your Dad made it!

We hope you are doing well and you are in our prayers....

  3. Sweet Girl: Just a note to let you know we love you, just in case you didn't know or that we had not told you today!!!!!!!!!We loved your blog. Can Ms. Holloway take her laptop to school and read your blog to the students that were a big part of your blog today? Remember Grandpa & Gammie say: "You are not a reservoir with a limited amount of resources;you are a channel attached to unlimited divine resources."

  5. Hi Ceci,

You don't know me..I just moved here a little over a month ago. I have heard so much about you, and have already had the priviledge of meeting your wonderful grandparents. One hug from them, and I almost feel like family.

Anyway, just wanted you to know that YOU, my dear, and a huge inspiration. Thank you for sharing your story. I will send good thoughts, and healing vibes your way, and I will pray for your speedy, and complete recovery.

Virtual hugs from the neighbor across the street that you do know (Joe) and the one you don't (Kathy).

  6. Hello Ceci!
I'm so glad they all lifted your spirits! It's always the good deeds of others that make us remember that even though we think we are in it alone, they are there to remind us that our assumptions are incorrect.

I love that you are creative in finding ways to pass the time on the "inside", while us on the outside are trying to figure out how to sneak ourselves "in" so we can brighten your days in any way possible! Know that we love you and we are here. You hang in there and keep climbing Ceci. We love you! :) :)
