There have been some small changes and appointments, but nothing too big to report. Actually, instead of postponing our date, which I'm going to be honest, I expected, they are moving it up. The new date is December 14th! Yes, only one day. I'll take it. I will get a Broviac on December 15th in-patient. I will be under general anesthesia when they access it. They place a line so that I don't have to be poked every time I need a blood product or chemotherapy. They haven't been able to do so because my counts are so low.
So here's whats been happening. I had a routine blood draw yesterday. Today, I am getting a RBC transfusion. It's been pretty quite at my house. It just feels like we are waiting and waiting. However; I have a feeling (or hope) the next few weeks will go by quickly. Monday, I start my pre transplant work up. They scheduled me for two, four hour days. I will get an ECHO, EKG, blood draw, CT scans, X-rays, etc on Monday and Tuesday. The following Monday I have a neuro-psych exam. They set aside a six hour block to test my mental abilities. Are they giving me the SAT's? I feel the need to study. They ask questions and give me problems to solve. One doctor told me it would be "fun". Who knows what that means? I guess I will just have to wait and see! I am enjoying my family and my own bed every minute I can though.
I feel great some days and not so well others. I'm taking it easy. We are being extremely careful of infection, the flu, etc. For example; my Mom(oh, how I love her) brought home a couple of books from Barnes and Noble. She clorox wiped them before she let me read them. We are so close to transplant we wouldn't want to chance delaying it. Sweet dreams.
Sweet Girl, Good update! I was going to call you after while for all of the latest, because every one at church in the morningwill be wanting to know.. Grandpa is going to have another procedure Monday for his shingles. Lets hope this is the one!!!!!!G&G say: "Wisdom consists in knowing what to do with what you know". I agree if you answer Jacob the werewolf they will know you are as sane as any 16 year can be! :) We'll try to pirate you a copy so you can see the hunk in person! :) You keep on keepin on and keep smiling that beautiful smile. The big game day approaches but just wish we could join you with all your pregame festivities...(such as hanging w/You at PCH) but as usual your Ma is right, no chance for setbacks, so the climb to victory will be sweet! We Love and miss You terribly, Keep the Faith Baby!
