Christmas Eve

It’s Christmas Eve…who would have ever thought one year ago that Ceci would be spending her 2009 Christmas at Phoenix Children’s Hospital! A lot can happen in a span of a year. To Ceci, the time right now is probably in slow motion because she continues to be in pain and very nauseated. They have made some adjustments in the pain relief medication, but it is a slippery slope of finding the exact amount to give relief but not too much for other side effects. It will probably be like this for the next two weeks…ugh!

Ryan and Allan showed up at PCH this afternoon sporting new haircuts in honor of their sister! You guys are the BEST!! (Just in case you are wondering… yes, Ceci still has her hair.) The nausea subsided, somewhat, for a couple of hours this evening and they had a great time playing “Catch Phrase”, which is one of her favorite games! They also enjoyed laughing as Ryan read “how to make a turkey” from a second grader’s perspective! Thanks to Myrna Holloway and the 2nd Grade class in Arnett, OK for sharing those cooking tips! Lookout Julia Childs!!

We are experiencing the power of all our prayer warriors out there! Thank you and please continue! Gary is battling a cold and is therefore unable to visit Ceci. Pray that he will get well soon and that the rest of the family stays healthy.

  1. Merry Christmas Beautiful Girl! I know its rough right now but the Climb continues. We all wish that we could take your pain and nausea for you. One minute at a time...it WILL get better. Just remember...If He brings you to it...He will get you through it. Just believe. We will continue to pray for your recovery and hope each day gets better. Love, Kindra and Family :)

  3. Merry Christmas Ceci & families!! We feel for you all not ALL getting to be together in one place. Our Ryan & Shannon didn't make it home for Christmas due to bad weather----so glad they are safe, but it sure leaves a void, huh? We'll be praying for your dad to get well, too. Especially, we'll be praying for your pain & nausea to subside. Much love, Kathy & Rexie

  4. Merry Merry Christmas to all the Christenson Clan! We think of you all daily and are praying for a speedy path to a pain free climb for Ceci! We pray for Gary's cold to get better quick. Hope you all have a great day and that Ceci gets a few hours of reprieve so she can play some more games with those handsome brothers of hers! Luv you all! The McCords

  5. Ceci: Christmas Day 2009, Even though we had to wave to you & say Merry Christmas through the window you looked pretty darn cute in your Christmas cap. Grandpa & Gammie say: "Real prayer always does one of two things: It either frees us from the trouble we fear or else it gives us the strength and courage to meet the trouble when it comes." In case you didn't hear us through the window we love you so much!!!!!!!

  6. I wanted to come and visit you at Christmas time because I've been training to be a patient care dog but so far I'm failing the course. One of these days. Love and miss you, Maximus Buss
